Job Summary:
Responsibilities as a Server/Front counter involve greeting customers, managing lane assignments, handling cash transactions, and maintaining the smooth operation of the front desk area. Those new to the role will develop skills in communication, problem-solving, and organizational management, all within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a non-supervisory, non-exempt role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Greet customers as they arrive.
- Assign bowling alleys to customers and collect fees using the POS system.
- Observing players to determine misuse of alleys or other equipment.
- Oversee the rental of shoes and equipment, ensuring they are returned, properly sanitized, and in good condition.
- Swiftly address any issues that arise, such as lane malfunctions or disputes among players.
- Keep track of lane availability and ensure that groups are allocated lanes promptly.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Guide customers to their tables when working in the dining area.
- Present menus and provide information about menu items and specials.
- Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently.
- Serve food and beverages to customers in a timely manner.
- Check in with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns.
- Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to customer spills or other special needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, restrooms, service areas, and the dining environment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and accuracy of orders.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, alcohol control policies, and restaurant/bowling policies.
- Assist with training new staff as needed.
- Assist other servers or areas when your workload permits.
- Stay productive during slow periods by preparing, cleaning, or tackling special projects assigned by managers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a wait staff or customer service role is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and tips.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.
- Familiar with point-of-sale systems is preferred.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma
- 1-2 years server experience
- Food Handlers Card (preferred)
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (preferred).
Physical Requirements and Schedule:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in a noisy and busy environment.
