MAJOR FUNCTION: Responsible for the programming of activities which promote recreation, diversion,
Intellectual/educational development for all residents. Plans and coordinates all aspects of the
Activity program. Maintains current federal/state regulations as well as professional standards
Ensuring the facility and activities programs remain in compliance. Review policies and
Procedures annually or as needed to ensure administrative requirements are current.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: Specialized education and training in recreation, group behavior and group activities especially as
Relates to older populations. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Activity Professional Certification
Preferred.
B. Experience: Previous experience with the recreational/activity program in a geriatric setting desirable. Must be
An excellent communicator in verbal and written skills.
C. Certifications: CPR and First Aide training within 90 days of employment. Must possess a driver’s license,
Proof of liability insurance and a good driving record. (Driving record will be checked on an
Annual basis).
D. Physical Requirements: Employee must be physically and mentally able to perform essential job functions which require
Prolonged standing and walking, some lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing carts, wheelchairs, climbing
Ladders, conducting all assigned duties as requested.
