What you are Empowered to Accomplish:
Plummer is looking for a driven mid level Construction Manager to support construction projects and senior construction managers both in the field and in the office. You will be responsible for overseeing project inspections, collaborating with engineers on projects during construction, and organizing workflow to meet project timelines.

The Construction Manager I will report to the Construction Management Team Leader, who will provide ongoing guidance and mentorship.
Our ideal teammate will have a bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field and at least 8 years of relevant experience (12 years of relevant without a bachelor's degree). Additionally, we are looking for someone with at least 5 year of field experience and 2 years of experience working on projects in multiple practices including Wastewater Treatment, Water/Reuse Treatment, and Conveyance (which can run concurrently with other experience). We require the Certified Construction Manager (CCM) to be obtained within the first year of employment.

We are seeking a strong communicator with organizational skills and the ability to collaboratively plan, problem-solve, and follow-through on projects. Requirements for this position include the following:
- 15 years field experience in construction or construction management.
- 5 years of experience on municipal utility-type projects, including pipelines, pump stations, storage tanks, water treatment plants, and wastewater treatment plants.
- Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and have a thorough understanding of mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural components of construction documents and how they function as a complete set.
- Ability to assist engineers with developing cost estimates and reviewing complex cost estimates.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Perform construction inspection duties on projects assigned. Able to lead project inspections on multiple projects.
- Able to manage multiple projects and personnel in a region.
- Able to train and direct inspectors and field staff and review their performance.
- Able to work with engineers on projects during construction.
- Able to communicate effectively across clients, contractors and engineers to facilitate resolution of issues and conflicts.
- Familiar with completion of Daily Construction Reports and other documentation as assigned by Construction Manager.
- Assist construction management group leader and Florida Area Leader with tasks as assigned.
- Ability to perform constructability reviews for Engineers during design.
- Review OPCCs for engineers during design.
- Understand cost estimates and budgets for projects.
- Able to manage the financial aspects, project budgets, and assist accounting with monthly reporting and invoicing.
- Responsible for clients in their area as assigned.
- Attend outside training – OSHA, ACI, Etc.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, employee may have to work in outside weather conditions. Employee occasionally works near moving parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
- Employee will be expected to pass OSHA safety course as part of training for jobsite visits.
Physical Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand up to 8 hours or more at one time, walk in rugged conditions, and work in adverse weather conditions.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 125 pounds.
Job Requirements
- At least 15 years’ of constructions experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- Construction Manager Certification from CMAA or ability to obtain it in 1 year.
- Professional Engineer License recommended.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Able to use Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling software, Procore, and other systems/software as necessary.
- Willing to travel up to 30% of time.
- Able to work in United Stated without sponsorship.
