What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Civil/Structural Engineer position at Polaris Engineering?
I. SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Supervises all Civil Structural engineering and design work, and ensures all facets of professional proficiency as Civil Engineering Department Manager
II. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures good engineering and design practices and techniques are followed on all tasks in the Civil Structural Department
Reviews and revises engineering and design procedures as they apply to the Civil Structural Department
Assigns projects or task within the Department to maximize utilization and ensure quality
Leverages technical capabilities to properly utilize Civil Structural resources
Monitors the Civil Structural schedule, budget and productivity on active projects
Coordinates Civil Structural Resources with Project Managers and other Disciplines
Assists on proposals by scoping, estimating and scheduling the Civil Structural portion of projects
Assists with business development tasks as required
Conducts and or causes others to conduct annual evaluations, career development counseling and reprimands within the Civil Structural Department
Coordinates with HR and Administration on all personnel issues
Directs, performs, or assigns all Civil Structural Engineering in conceptual feasibility or detailed level engineering projects
III. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Civil Engineering
At least 10 years cumulative experience as consulting engineer and or manager.
No less than 2 years of Professional Engineering experience and no less than 2 years of managerial experience.
Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
Competent use of Microsoft Office
PE registration in all states of practice
Available for short-term travel
IV. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS:
Reports to Civil Structural Engineering Manager
