What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Accounting Manager position at Post University?
JOB SUMMARY:
The position is primarily responsible for performing general accounting functions within Post University. The candidate will report to the Shared Services Accounting Manager based in Waterbury, Connecticut. Candidate must be very “hands-on” and be able to work with little guidance and support.
This hybrid position requires three days per week in the office in Waterbury, CT. Whenever working remotely, the candidate's home network must meet the minimum required speed and follow the hardware connection settings determined by their provisioned equipment and department role. Additionally, candidates must have a reliable Internet connection and a designated and private home office or alternative workspace free from noise or distractions.)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Consistently models Post University’s non-negotiable behaviors and values to reinforce its culture.
- Recording of monthly journal entries is required.
- Monthly Internal Reporting Package.
- Includes variance analysis research and reporting.
- Management Reporting Packages
- Reconciliation of Balance Sheet and P&L Accounts.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- BS in Accounting required.
- Must have at least 3-5 years practical experience.
- Understanding and familiarity with various financial statement preparation
- Able to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment and implement changes quickly and accurately.
- Self-motivated individual with effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work under time pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and prioritize the work appropriately.
