What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Scheduler position at Power Systems International Inc?
The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing production plans based on customer requirements, material availability, and production capacity. The position is accountable for scheduling product flow throughout the assembly process and ensuring the timely completion of manufacturing orders.
Essential Responsibilities:
Determine and develop product build schedule and release to production based on requested customer delivery dates, availability of materials, and equipment
Review and confirm jobs in the production control system managing the build schedule daily to adjust for changes in customer requirements, delays in receiving materials, availability of production resources, etc.
Advise appropriate team members of changes in the schedule and monitor Engineering Change Requests to ensure implementation requirements are met
Assist with developing integrated production and material requirement plans and serve as primary contact with inside sales, manufacturing, and logistics
Review inventory of materials against present and anticipated sales orders and engage material buyers when shortfalls are found
Participate in daily production planning meetings that include representatives from sales, production, shipping, customer service, engineering, quality, and materials departments escalating all potential scheduling issues to company stakeholders
Enhance the current planning model and toolsets, implement additional functionality, and implement appropriate metrics to ensure full accountability throughout the end-to-end process

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Operations Management, Statistics, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred; may substitute for the degree direct applicable work experience on a year-for-year basis which built competencies and subject matter expertise
Demonstrated success in production planning, detailed scheduling, replenishment planning, demand planning or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Subject matter expert within a build-to-order environment, ideally paired with automotive or industrial line planning
Effective at driving action through time-sensitive communication with a wide array of teams (IT, Production, Accounting, Supply Chain, Engineering)
Preferred Qualifications:
American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) certification
Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
Experience with Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, Epicor preferred
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
