What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scale House Clerk position at Pratt Industries?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-
(Other duties may be assigned)
Keying of all loads received into the mill for Recycling, good communication with drivers
Watching camera to make sure docks are full at all times and a truck waiting to pull in as one pulls out
Logging the drivers/loads on the receiving log for Mill
Checking drivers in and filling out drop tickets for trailers to be dropped
Keep traffic flow for inbound and outbound loads under control as best as possible
Communication with Henderson Office (for issues with release numbers, rejections, etc.)
Radio Communication with the Fiber Yard
Notifying shipping when driver arrives with a load of chemicals
Maintaining scale house cleanliness and supplies
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE-
Post-secondary educational degree (2 to 4 year degree from college, university, technical school, military, vocational or other advanced educational institution) preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS-
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language at or above high school level
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS-
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value.
REASONING ABILITY-
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
TECHNICAL SKILLS-
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, 10 Key
PHYSICAL DEMANDS-
Employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear
Employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, feel; and reach with hands and arms
The employee is occasionally required to sit
Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
24/7 operation working 12 hour shifts in a 4 shift rotational

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

COMPENSATION-
Scale House Clerks will be Salaried Non-Exempt (qualify for overtime above 40 hrs./week)
Base Salary of $35,580.00 plus built in overtime in the schedule and monthly incentive (Potential to earn $45,000.00 annually)
