What does the Receptionist do?

In this entry-level role, you would be helping to be the“face” of our care center. You would be providing general business officeservices (filing, filling out forms, assisting line staff and managers), greetfamilies, residents, and other visitors, as well as offering direction toquestions and concerns. If you want to work in a home-like environment whereyou get to know those you serve on a daily basis, this administrative role isfor you and quite different compared to other Receptionist roles.

In this job, everyday you will…

1. Represents the facility in receiving residents,staff and the public in a positive, helpful manner, and demonstrates Companymission, philosophy and core values.

2. Directs residents and guests to the appropriateoffice for assistance, resident apartment, or activity area as needed.

3. Answers the telephone within two rings anddirects calls to appropriate party, minimizing “holding” time.

4. Provides clerical support to all departments, asassigned by supervisor, in a timely and organized manner.

5. Copies, collates, and staples materials asrequested.

6. Provides support to other departments bymaintaining files, assist in filing, typing labels, and other office tasks asrequested.

7. Sorts and distributes incoming mail andprocesses outgoing mail.

Education & Experienceyou need to qualify:

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read written direction,comprehend verbal instructions, and write at a level necessary to accomplishthis job.
  • Type 60 wpm and experience with personalcomputers and printers a must.
  • Able to communicate effectively, in English,with personnel at all levels of the organization, with residents, their friendsand family, and with members of the community
