BUYER/PLANNER
Job Description
Price Industries Inc. is on the search for a Buyer for its growing US office and manufacturing facility located in Suwanee GA. This position will report to the Plant Manager and is a strategic resource to plan, coordinate and control all activities related to the procurement, scheduling, storage and inventory control of all materials necessary for the facility to meet their sales and manufacturing commitments.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Leadership team to set goals and objectives, and communicate weekly and monthly data to the management team
- Work with the Corporate team to develop and implement materials management programs for the facilities requirements
- Recommend a sourcing strategy to meet customer needs, market conditions and maximize positive impact to the organization
- Support the Corporate group by coordinating flow of information and participating/leading formal RFPs
- Coordinate supplier development and partnership activities with corporate objectives. Utilize supplier performance tools consistent with those used across the organization
- Manage the preparation and implementation of short and long-range inventory plans for raw materials to minimize materials costs and meet production requirements
- Monitor phases of inventory, procedures, and controls and maintain a constant awareness of status, providing for alternative plans as needed to compensate for shortages, rejections, new priorities and related problems
- Plans and coordinates the physical inventory, being responsible for counts, accuracy, costing and reporting for raw materials, work in process and finished goods
- Prepare monthly reports as to progress, order status, and related information relative to inventory control and purchasing
- Maintains an awareness of company policies and procedures and ensures compliance by all subordinates
- Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies.
- Prepares purchase orders and manages open orders accordingly.
- Estimates the value of raw materials according to knowledge of market price.

Qualifications

Education/Relevant Experience/ Skills
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Supply Chain or Business
- 3 years working experience in a manufacturing environment with extensive experience in purchasing, inventory, planning, supervision, and MRP systems
- Experience in sheet-metal and/or HVAC industry a huge plus
- Requires a demonstrated knowledge of industry associations, trends and indicators that may affect the cost of materials used in the manufacturer of metal products
- Must be skilled in the development and implementation of computer programs for accounting, inventory control, materials and related areas
