Position Summary and Objectives:
The contractor will provide support services to meet the operational objectives. The primary goal is to deliver services and outcomes through effective performance of support tasks.

PhD in Biological or Behavioral Sciences
Certifications & Licenses:
- Ph.D. in the Biological or Behavioral Sciences

Statement of Work:
The contractor will perform the following tasks:
- Perform administrative review of research grant applications.
- Review and prepare written reviews of research grant applications.
- Identify and select reviewers by matching their expertise with the specific science in research grant applications.
- Assess reviewers for potential conflicts of interest in relation to applications.
- Assist federal staff in coordinating the participation of reviewers for each application.
- Refer applications to identified reviewers.
- Coordinate review activities with appropriate staff.
- Clarify administrative and policy requirements related to peer review.
- Identify areas of expertise required for the peer review panel, search databases, and prepare lists of potential reviewers.
- Prepare preliminary drafts of summary statements.
- Ensure high-quality written reviews are obtained and critiques are gathered from expert reviewers.
- Coordinate the submission of critiques and evaluate reviews for completeness and accuracy.
- Validate and enter information into databases.
- Assess potential conflicts of interest for individuals involved in the review process.
- Attend peer review meetings and take notes for the preparation of final summary documentation.
- Analyze the scientific content of grant applications.
- Mentor and train staff on scientific peer review processes and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between federal staff and reviewers.
