Job Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining the transportation and scheduling of all incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as internal transfers. This requires interfacing with internal departments, external vendors, logistics companies, etc. Additionally, this position will also process all movements in the ERP system and update relevant individuals on all shipment discrepancies or changes

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Ability to maneuver in varying environments, including extended time in the Freezer or the Cold Dock. Freezer temperatures can range from -10 to 15 degrees.
• Schedule and expedite the movement of product by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
• Schedule delivery of raw material from storage warehouse or loaded storage facilities.
• Interface with Logistics companies, Customs Brokers, DOT, Transportations companies, and a wide variety of Vendors.
• Implement and maintain a scheduling system for appointment times for loading and unloading of all trucks including internal transfers.
• Proactively manage all incoming and outgoing shipments. Immediately advise and escalate if necessary to relevant individuals as to any deviations to the shipment.
• Prepare BOL’s and outbound packets for outgoing shipments in coordination with traffic Department.
• Communicate load and tracking information to Customer Service team.
• Communicate and escalate delays or discrepancies with shipments to Customer Service team immediately.
• Contact carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries
• Create foreign shipment documents
• Oversee Receipt of inventory into ERP system and close out work orders in ERP.
• Track shipments from vendors and communicate potential late material to Sales/Production.
• Track and manage carrier/vendor performance.
• Proper housekeeping throughout the shift and in all departmental areas.

Education/Experience

Less than high school education; at least 1 year related experience in a high growth or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous ERP system experience preferred. 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, varying environments including extreme cold, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
