Position Summary

• The Security and Safety Officer responds to the security needs of the assigned facility. The goal is to provide a safe and secure environment for PCH Bluefield patients, visitors and personnel.

Qualifications

• Required:

  • Formal Education and Certifications

    • High school graduate or equivalent

    • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record

  • Knowledge and Experience

    • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other relevant profession. (Criminal Justice degree may be considered in lieu of security and or law enforcement experience) OR

    • Successful Completion of Princeton Community Hospital Security Orientation and training.

    • Able to read, write, and use a computer

  • Personal Attributes

    • Able to withstand the physical demands of the job such as walking, climbing stairs, assisting staff when requested in crisis situations

    • Able to do shift work as scheduled

    • Effectively follow directives, present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

• Preferred:

  • Formal Education and Certifications

    • CPR certification

    • Familiar with applicable federal, state and local regulations
