Role Description
We are seeking an experienced, part-time Personal/Private Chef to prepare healthy, delicious, and nutritious meals for a family in Chapel Hill, NC, 5 minutes South of Southpoint Mall. This is an on-site position with responsibilities including preparing lunch and dinner for 3 people, managing kitchen inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized cooking space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and cook lunch and dinner, focusing on healthy, balanced meals
- Create diverse, flavorful menus inspired by global cuisines, with a preference for Asian flavors
- Ensure meals are free from seed oils, excessive salt, MSG's, etc.
- Manage kitchen inventory, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stocked
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking tools
- Tailor meals to the specific dietary preferences and needs of the family
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience with a variety of cuisines, particularly Asian-inspired cooking
- Passionate about preparing meals in a holistic way, prioritizing fresh, high-quality, whole food ingredients
- Ability to create meals that are both nutritious and flavorful
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and preferences, with an emphasis on health-conscious cooking
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
- Would be a plus if you know how to start and maintain a garden for cooking purposes so we can grow our own ingredients
Qualifications:
- Culinary skills, Meal Planning, and Cooking abilities
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and preferences
- Grocery shopping and inventory management skills
- Menu development and food presentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Experience working in private households or fine dining establishments
- Culinary degree or certification is a plus
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality and pass a background check
