Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless patient experience by providing exceptional administrative support in an optometry clinic setting. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for patient care.
- Acknowledge and greet patients, customers, and vendors as they walk into the practice, in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Answers and responds to telephone inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Schedules appointments
- Gathers patients and insurance information
- Verifies and enters patient demographics into EMR ensuring all fields are complete
- Verifies vision and medical insurance information and enters EMR
- Maintains a clear understanding of insurance plans and is able to communicate insurance information to the patients
- Pulls schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointment and ensures files are complete
- Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed
- Print and prepare forms for patients visit
- Collects and documents all charges, co-pays, and payments into EMR
- Allocates balances to insurance as needed
- Always maintains a clean workspace
- Practices economy in the use of _me, equipment, and supplies
- Performs other duties as needed and as assigned by manager
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer literacy
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
