Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health and addiction medicine, with the ability to provide effective clinical counseling and case management. This role requires a commitment to supporting individuals through their challenges, utilizing various therapeutic techniques and assessments to promote mental well-being.

Duties

• Conduct diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' mental health needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide clinical counseling services, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy and other therapeutic modalities to support clients in their recovery journey.
• Manage cases effectively, coordinating care with other healthcare providers and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
• Offer crisis management services to individuals in acute distress, ensuring their safety and connecting them with necessary resources.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within hospital settings or community care environments to deliver holistic care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and any relevant assessments in compliance with ICD-10 standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health counseling and addiction medicine.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Licensure or certification as a Counselor or Therapist is preferred.
• Experience in addiction medicine and home community care is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in diagnostic evaluation techniques and case management practices.
• Strong understanding of cognitive behavioral therapy principles and crisis intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of counseling practice.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.62 - $16.81 per hour
