Overview
The Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) credential isonly available to persons who have completed a master’s degree with a clinical internship from a regionally accredited college or university.
The Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist may provide the required ongoing supervision to maintain a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) or Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJP) credential.
Exceptions are not made for applicants based on experience or the various requirements for graduation.
Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' mental health and social needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client assessments.
- Provide case management services, including coordinating care and resources for clients.
- Offer addiction counseling and support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment interventions.
- Work with individuals with disabilities, ensuring their unique needs are met in the therapeutic process.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality.
- Utilize applied behavior analysis techniques as appropriate for client treatment.
- Document all interactions, assessments, and treatment plans accurately using ICD-9 coding standards.
- Provide care and support for geriatric clients, addressing their specific mental health concerns.
Qualifications
- The practice of a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) may be independent and consists of the Twelve Core Functions, including screening,
- Intake
- Orientation
- Assessment
- Treatment planning
- Counseling
- Case management
- Crisis intervention
- Client education
- Report and record keeping
- Consultation with other professionals in regard to client treatment and services,
- Referral to reduce the conditions that place individuals at risk of developing addictive disorder or disease with co-occurring disorders,
- Treatment for addictive disorder or disease.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Experience:
- Addiction counseling: 1 year (Preferred)
