We are excited to announce an opening for an Optometrist Assistant at Professional VisionCare! We are inviting all who may be interested in joining our thriving optometry practice to apply! What is an Optometric Assistant? At our practice we provide vision care, from eye exams to treatment of eye disease to prescribing eyewear, and more! The Optometric Assistant is the team member who performs special vision testing for our patients, inputs data into our patient’s chart during their exams/visits, and assists the doctor in providing care for our patients. It is a fast paced, high volume, and extremely detailed position, so if that sounds like your cup of tea, keep reading!
Responsibilities for the Optometric Assistant Include:
· Assist and care for patients by serving as their initial entry for examination
· Elicit chief complaints, history of present illness, complete medical history and medications
· Documentation of medical information into electronic health records
· Performing pre-diagnostic testing on patients
· Assisting the doctor during every patient appointment
· Completing necessary follow up documentation, such as diabetic reports, consults, etc

Work Shift Information
All team members will have every Sunday and one weekday off per week. If hired, you must be available to work every Saturday.
It’s important to note that start/end times may slightly shift depending on which office location you work at. Shift end times are always listed, but there is the potential that you may stay a little past your shift end time if the job tasks for the day are not completed.
Potential Shifts for Optometric Assistants:
- Monday through Thursday:
- Shift Start Time Ranges: 7:45am-8am
- Shift End Time Ranges: 5:00pm
- Friday and Saturday:
- Shift Start Time Ranges: 7:45am-8am
- Shift End Time Ranges: 1:30pm
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 39 per week
