Job Overview:
The Shipper/Receiver for our Orthotic and Prosthetic Clinic is responsible for managing the shipping and receiving of medical devices and supplies related to orthotics and prosthetics. This role involves ensuring accurate processing, handling, and inventory management of fabrication supplies, as well as overseeing the progress of each device through the fabrication process.. The Shipper/Receiver will collaborate closely with clinicians, technicians, and administrative staff to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of patient devices, while maintaining proper inventory and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Shipping:
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments of medical devices, ensuring they are securely packaged and properly labeled according to clinical specifications.
- Ensure the correct shipping of custom devices and products to meet patient needs and clinic timelines.
- Generate packing lists, shipping documents, and product labels, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of outgoing shipments, including tracking information and delivery confirmations.
Receiving:
- Receive shipments of medical devices, supplies, and parts, verifying them against purchase orders, invoices, and clinical requirements.
- Inspect incoming products for damage and ensure items meet the specifications for use in patient care.
- Properly label, catalog, and store orthotic and prosthetic products in the designated clinic or warehouse space.
- Assist in managing returns, repairs, or exchanges for devices as necessary.
Inventory Management:
- Regularly monitor inventory levels of fabrication supplies ensuring adequate stock levels for patient needs and clinic operations.
- Perform routine inventory checks, cycle counts, and organize stock to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Work with the clinic team to ensure proper documentation of inventory, including patient-specific orders.
- Assist in managing the clinical workflow by ensuring devices and supplies are accessible, ready for use, and appropriately stored.
- Collaborate with the clinical staff to forecast inventory needs based on upcoming patient appointments and procedures.
Clinic Operations Support:
- Coordinate with clinicians and technicians to ensure accurate order fulfillment for patient-specific orthotic or prosthetic devices.
- Manage packaging and delivery of completed patient orders in line with clinic procedures.
- Maintain a safe, organized environment in both the shipping/receiving areas and the clinic, ensuring minimal risk of contamination or damage to medical devices.
- Occasionally transporting supplies between locations- MUST have transportation
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to handle medical devices and supplies with care and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a background in healthcare, orthotics, or prosthetics is a plus.
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, preferably within a medical or clinical setting.
- Knowledge of orthotics and prosthetics products is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinic staff.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs), and stand or walk for extended periods.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move heavy medical equipment or supplies.
- Ability to stand, bend, and move for extended periods while performing duties.
- Capability to operate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools used in shipping/receiving.
- Must have transportation

Salary Range: $36,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year
