Mental Health Counselor - 3500 PSYCH ACUTE ADOLESCENT - Sleep Center at Prov St Patrick Hosp-Missoula(HR)

Shift: 0040-No Daily Overtime 40 Hour Week, 0.6 FTE Part time, Evening.

The Mental Health Specialist (MHS) functions under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Social Worker and/or Registered Nurse to provide direct care for selected patients. The MHS is expected to demonstrate a basic understanding of contemporary psychosocial principles in relation to their area of responsibility while implementing the delegated tasks of the Multidisciplinary Treatment Plan of Care. Following orientation and defined training programs, satisfactorily performs skills as defined by departmental policy and orientation procedure. Implements selected unit and patient care activities in collaboration with other team members.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field, Or
  • Education requirement may be waived in the case of an applicant demonstrating exceptional relevant clinical experience.
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year recent experience working in an inpatient or outpatient setting with the mentally ill.
