Industrial Electrical Technician
Provisions Group is seeking an Industrial Electrical Technician for one of our clients. This role offers the opportunity to utilize your expertise in electrical, mechanical, and preventative maintenance to support and optimize critical production operations.
Overview:
The Industrial Electrical Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. This includes diagnosing and repairing faulty components on machines, such as PLCs, AC/DC drives, and control systems, to ensure that production equipment operates efficiently. The role also involves performing regular preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Job Functions:
- Diagnose and repair issues with motors, motor starters, control panels, relay logic, mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
- Program and install Allen Bradley PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Install and wire electrical control panels, including running conduit.
- Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment used in production.
- Collaborate in the development and execution of a preventive maintenance program.
- Communicate daily with the Maintenance Manager and Production personnel to review equipment performance and address any issues that could impact production, quality, costs, or safety.
- Conduct root cause analysis to improve the reliability and performance of equipment.
- Perform equipment testing to ensure proper functionality after repairs.
- Follow all safety regulations, work rules, and housekeeping standards.
Requirements:
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Welding skills are a plus.
- Experience: 10 years of programming and installation experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and VFDs.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required.
Work Schedule:
- Current Schedule: Monday – Friday, with Saturdays reserved for preventative maintenance.
- Potential Schedule: Production may expand to Monday – Saturday, requiring maintenance staff to work on Sundays.
- Hours: Flexible start time, currently 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with expectations of consistency once a schedule is confirmed.
- Overtime: Overtime is highly likely, though not guaranteed.
