The student in this position will work closely with Purdue's Rosen Center for Advanced Computing (RCAC) Research Software Engineering (RSE) team-a multidisciplinary group of data scientists, visualization scientists, and research software engineers-while collaborating directly with the Lead AI Scientist and RSE Project Lead. This role supports the development of a proof-of-concept system for a Department of Defense (DoD)-funded project of national importance, offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data science, AI, and prototype development. Due to the nature of the project, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the RCAC-RSE team to develop and test data workflows and pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Contribute to the creation of proof-of-concept systems using tools like Streamlit or Gradio for building web-based interfaces.
- Support the integration of machine learning models and data visualization tools into the system.
- Assist in documenting processes, tools, and workflows to ensure project sustainability.
