Our client has engaged us in the search for a dedicated and experienced Regional General Manager (RGM) to lead operations for our rebar fabrication plant in Salem, VA. The RGM will oversee all aspects of plant operations, business development, and customer relationships within the assigned territory. This position requires exceptional leadership, operational expertise, and strategic planning skills to drive efficiency, growth, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Manage daily operations of the rebar fabrication plant to ensure high-quality production and on-time delivery with strict adherence to safety and OSHA standards.
- Develop and monitor operational metrics, including safety, productivity, and quality standards.
Territory Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and industry partners within Southwest VA, Western NC, WV, and Northeast TN.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the regional customer base.
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and manage plant personnel, including fabrication shop supervisor and production staff.
- Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Financial Management
- Oversee the plant’s budget, including expense control, revenue growth, and profitability targets.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and develop action plans to address variances.
Customer Focus
- Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining high service standards, addressing concerns promptly, and delivering quality products.
- Collaborate with sales and project management teams to support customer needs and market outreach.
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and environmental standards.
- Promote and enforce workplace safety policies and training programs.
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Align plant operations with overall business objectives and regional growth strategies.
- Conduct market analysis and provide insights to leadership for decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 5 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, construction materials, or industrial operations (experience in rebar fabrication or construction-related industries preferred).
- Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze financial data, and achieve profitability targets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
