Full-time Preschool Teacher's Assistant. The position supports the lead teacher to maintain a calm, nurturing, engaging environment for a classroom of approximately 18 children ages 3 to 6 years old.

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintaining the order and cleanliness of the environment
• Supporting the children's independence and encouraging positive behavior through role modeling
• Helping students as directed by the teacher
• Helping with children's daily needs including snack, lunch, napping, assistance with toileting if needed
• Supervising naps and recess to for safety and peer problem solving
• Making/Repairing Montessori materials to support student work
• Help teacher with general classroom management

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with young children
• Respect for young children as individuals
• A demonstrated warm, caring, and patient manner
• Solid respectful, communication and organizational skills
• The flexibility to adapt to the dynamics of a child's day
• The willingness to accept direction but also take initiative in their work
• A desire to learn about Montessori education

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
