Summary
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator - Order Picker to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced 3PL warehouse environment. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate order picker equipment and accurately pick orders to meet customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating order picker equipment and a strong understanding of warehouse operations, including staging, preparing, and validating shipments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, RF scanning experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities

Order Picking & Staging
- Operate order picker equipment to retrieve products stored on pallet racking systems up to 4 rows high.
- Accurately pick, organize, and stage orders based on customer requirements and order documentation.
- Ensure proper labeling and packing of picked items before they are validated for shipment.
- Utilize RF scanners to ensure order accuracy and real-time updates to the warehouse management system (WMS).

Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Safely operate order picker equipment following company and OSHA standards.
- Perform pre-shift inspections and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Support operations with additional equipment (e.g., forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks) as needed, if certified.

Shipping & Receiving Support
- Assist in the preparation, staging, and loading of outbound shipments.
- Validate outgoing shipments against customer orders and resolve discrepancies.
- Unload incoming shipments, check for damage, and ensure accuracy against receiving documentation.

General Warehouse Duties
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with Good Warehouse Practices (GWP).
- Adhere to safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety within the team.
- Support additional tasks within the shipping and receiving department as assigned by supervisors.
- Be willing to perform any other duties required to support business operations and facilities maintenance as assigned by Management, whether on a temporary or permanent basis.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Mandatory: Proven experience operating order picker equipment in a warehouse environment. Must be OSHA certified (or equivalent) - proof is required at time of interview.
- Preferred: Experience with other warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking and staging orders.
- Proficiency with RF scanners and basic understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally heavier items with assistance.
- Comfortable working at heights while operating order picker equipment.
- Stamina to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
- Certification or licensing to operate order picker equipment is preferred. OSHA-compliant forklift certification is an asset.
- Availability to work overtime as required by operational needs.
