The primary focus of the Quality Technician is to support the activities of the Quality Department at Roechling – GTP and 321 locations and ensure compliance with all customer and regulatory requirements through the Quality Management System (QMS). This individual would report to the Quality Manager.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide shop floor quality support and function as a technical resource for the various departments across the Roechling - GTP and 321 locations (as directed by Quality Manager)
- Assist with problem-solving (PFMEA, containment, root cause/corrective action, disposition, etc.) activities associated with internal and external quality issues
- Conduct and/or participate in internal process and ISO audits to verify the conformances of products and quality management systems as defined by the standards
- Assist in the verification of customer requirements/expectations on high-priority orders
- Provide inspection support for internal and external customers
- Perform quality testing of material for internal and external analysis (if required)
- Communicate quality findings to Quality Manager
- Assist with all aspects of gage management and calibration, including selection of proper M&ME and performing Out of Tolerance (OOT) gage investigations (as required)
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of customer specifications, industry standards, and quality systems standards, including ISO9001

- Knowledge of a wide variety of inspection and test equipment, and methodologies
- Experience with computer-based applications (MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook)
- Must be self-driven / self-motivated and able to pay close attention to details
- Ability to shift priorities during the day
- Ability to work independently and/or in a team
- Have great organizational skills to maintain quality records.
- Ability to effectively write and communicate inspection results.
- Ability to analytically interpret and present results in a large group setting.
- Working knowledge in reading and interpreting technical specifications and industry standards
- Associate degree (preferred) or 2 years of experience in a related manufacturing or quality position
- Read, analyze, and interpret procedures, work instructions and customer specifications.
- Interpret and data.
- Ability to apply mathematical operations when measuring and inspecting material.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Organized and able to archive all necessary documents and information.
- Eagerness to grow in this position.
- Exceptional people skills to effectively communicate with employees, colleagues, and supervision.
- Hard-working and driven with the ability to work independently when necessary.
- Ability to work in a team environment where all members are expected to contribute.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock.
- The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic
- chemicals, and vibrations.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
