Position Summary: The person is required to have an extensive knowledge of the company’s products, services, warranty policies. The person must be customer focused and sales oriented. The consultant is responsible for creating, as well as maintaining a long-term relationship with their customers, represent the company in a positive manner and achieve sales goals while ensuring further business. The consultant’s responsibilities include helping customers make product selections that meet their business requirements, providing information about the products they are interested in and resolving customers’ complaints satisfactorily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


·       Responsible for meeting sales targets.

·       Responsible for incoming sales calls, referral leads, and visiting local neighborhoods, municipalities, businesses, trade shows, and police stations for demonstrations and product awareness and recommend products based on customer business requirements. Communications should include detailed product knowledge and the ability to compare product weaknesses of competitors.

·       Responsible for developing quotations/bids to meet specifications with competitive pricing while maintaining margins. When bidding on a job is important to have product knowledge regarding competitors’ products and pricing.

·       Responsible for maintaining contact with customers after the sale regarding lead times, questions with programming or installing and any repair issues. Prior to shipment, all customer communications regarding the sale should be handled by the sales consultant.

·       Responsible to ensure all orders are complete and accurate. 

·       Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made and special sales activities to reduce stock.

·       Responsible for the follow up and collection of payment.

·       Responsible for monitoring competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques. Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.

·       Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.

  • Travel is required in this position.

Education/Experience:

  • A bachelors' degree or equivalent educational experience
  • 2 years of sales experience is a plus.

§ Good written and verbal communication skills to relate effectively with customers, co-workers, and management

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Word Processing software, and NetSuite.
