About the Role
We’re excited to partner with a leading global investment bank to find a Director-level Quantitative Strategist to join their front-office analytics team in New York. This role is part of a specialized group focused on delivering cutting-edge flow analytics solutions for sales and trading teams.
You’ll play a pivotal role in developing and optimizing tools used to analyze real-time and historical market flow data, identify trends and outliers, and enhance decision-making. This is a highly technical position, perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic, front-office environment and enjoys working closely with traders and sales professionals.

- Technical Leadership: This is a highly hands-on role, with around 80-90% of your time initially spent coding. Over time, it will balance out to 60% technical and 40% leadership/mentorship responsibilities.
- Cutting-Edge Technology: The platform is built on kdb /q and JavaScript, supporting massive datasets and providing APIs for internal users. While experience with kdb /q is a bonus, candidates from strong C or Java backgrounds who are eager to learn kdb are also encouraged to apply.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with sales and trading teams to design and develop trading workflows and decision-support tools.
- Analyze large, complex datasets in real-time to uncover actionable insights, identify trends, and source new opportunities.
- Lead the full software development lifecycle, including coding, onboarding datasets, and delivering production-ready solutions.
- Act as a mentor to junior team members while serving as a key technical leader for New York-based projects.
- Deliver high-impact, tactical solutions under tight deadlines to meet front-office needs.
What You Bring
- A strong quantitative background, ideally with a degree in mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a front-office quant/technical role at an investment bank or similar environment.
- Expertise in at least two programming languages, such as C , Java, Python, or kdb /q.
- Hands-on experience with big data, analytics, and using diverse datasets to enhance sales and trading processes.
- Familiarity with SDLC tools like Git, Bitbucket, or JIRA.
Preferred Skills
- A background in credit or fixed income markets.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) with a focus on optimization, machine learning, or time series analysis.
- Genuine experience with kdb /q for devops or query/report building.
- Strong communication skills to translate complex data insights into actionable strategies.
