Certification Details
- BLS
- ARRT-CT
- General Information: Level II Trauma Center/Rural South Dakota
- Types of Patients: Heavy trauma population – Falls, MVAs, GSW, Stabbings, etc
- Will scan throughout various areas - Inpatient/ED/Outpatient, will do higher level scans such as Angiograms, etc.
- Scans per Day: ED – 60-70 per 24 hrs, Inpatient - Varies, Outpatient – Approx. 50/day
- Equipment Types: Siemens only – 4 Scanners within the department
- Required Certifications: BLS
- ARRT-CT
- Education Requirements: Must graduate from a Radiology Program that will allow them to sit for (ARRT)(R) (CT) American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification with advanced certification in Cat Scan
- No State licensure is required
- Varied schedule: Discussed during interview with Leadership
- Primarily work night shifts
- Weekend rotation: weekend rotation, discussed during interview
- No call required
- Overtime optional
- Holiday Expectations: holiday rotation required
- Approval of time off? Manager conducts interviews
- Support within the Department: There is always another CT Tech on with you 24/7
- Always staffed with another CT Tech
- Orientation: 2 weeks
