What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Planner position at Raycap Inc?
Job Summary
The Logistics Planner is responsible for overseeing all planning activities. Reporting to the Chief Supply Chain & Sustainability Officer, this position will coordinate with multiple departments and facilities, both domestically and internationally, to ensure timely shipping and receiving of materials.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate the logistical transportation planning activities for the 3 U.S. locations which include road, air, and sea freighting for materials
- Perform and maintain quote requests for all logistical services – maintain and cost control the logistics activities for all 3 U.S. locations
- Maintain the international and domestic logistics activities
- Coordinate industry contacts to ensure the development of reliable and cost controlled logistics solutions
- Monitor suppliers’ performance on delivery times, quality, and responsiveness and take corrective action, as needed
- Experience in navigating the customs process for goods to ensure on time and in full delivery of products
- Acts as a gate keeper for logistics activities and approves final coordination
Job Requirements
- 2 years of college, or 3 years of relevant working experience
- Able to establish and maintain firm logistics boundaries and escalate, as appropriate
- Knowledge of SAP, maintaining and implementing SAP based solutions for logistics
- Maintain strong business partnerships within the industry (Fed Ex, UPS, Freighting Business) to efficiently coordinate cost controlled and timely logistics solutions
