Job Summary:
Our healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Respiratory Therapist is to assess and treat patients with breathing disorders, such as asthma, emphysema, and sleep apnea. The Respiratory Therapist will work closely with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans to help patients improve their breathing and overall lung function.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform diagnostic tests to evaluate patients' lung function
- Administer medications and treatments to patients to improve breathing
- Monitor and assess patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Educate patients on proper breathing techniques and self-care practices
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist
- Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of respiratory care equipment and techniques
