    Full- time, 165 scheduled working days during school year, 8 hours/day, 4-day school week (Tuesday-Friday)
    Salary range: minimum $17.30 hour *salary dependent on experience

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    1. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
    2. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

    Qualifications Preferred but not Required:

    1. Hold an Associates or higher degree, or
    2. Have a minimum of 48.00 hours college credit, or successfully pass the Work Keys test (through the Workforce Center) for Reading Information, Mathematics and Business Writing.Job Tasks Descriptions.

    1. Assisting assigned teachers with instructional and physical student support is a primary responsibility of this position.
    2. Delivery of instructional activities according to the individual student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) and as assigned and developed by certified/licensed staff, which may include helping with
    the design and implementation of an appropriate learning environment while incorporating appropriate assistive technologies and multi-sensory materials.
    3. Instructional support helping students integrate into general education classrooms and requires some communication with general education teachers regarding student needs. Imparting life skills such as self-hygiene and social/emotional skills are also a part of the Paras responsibilities.
    4. Supervise and facilitate sensory and movement rest periods in between academic activities, and which facilitate increased student engagement.
    5. Assisting the teacher in implementing positive behavior plans and systems appropriate to the individual student is a responsibility of this position.
    6. Providing student oversight and supervision during out-of-classroom activities including arrivals and departures, outside breaks, passing periods, and other activities as assigned by the
    supervising teacher is a daily responsibility of this position.
    7. Communication with other paraprofessionals and staff to keep track of student movements, schedules, and locations. Based on the needs of the student, a Paraprofessional may be
    requested to travel with a student during transportation to and from school/home.
    8. Serving students to provide personal hygienic needs is a primary responsibility of this position. Services are provided according to the individual needs of each student and there is an
    expectation to maintain the student's HIPPA confidentiality and personal dignity in providing for these needs. Responsibilities This may include dispensing of medications, meal preparation,
    feeding or toileting/diapering.
    9. Collecting and reviewing progress on students' work toward Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals/objectives are completed with SPED teachers on a regular basis with adjustments made to
    ensure IEP compliance and students' needs are being met.
    10. Other duties as assigned.
