Billing Administrator

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer/Chief Financial Officer
Job Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of patient claims, insurance reimbursements, and financial records. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare billing, insurance verification, and compliance with medical billing regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit insurance claims for treatment services rendered.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before service delivery.
- Ensure accurate coding and documentation for billing compliance.
- Process and track payments from insurance providers, patients, and third-party payers.
- Reconcile accounts, identify discrepancies, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve denied or delayed claims.
- Maintain patient financial records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Assist patients and families with billing inquiries and payment arrangements.
- Stay up to date with healthcare billing regulations, including Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance policies.
- Prepare financial reports and collaborate with the finance team to optimize billing processes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a behavioral health or treatment center setting.
- Knowledge of insurance claim processes, CPT and ICD-10 coding, and HIPAA regulations.
- Experience with electronic billing systems and medical billing software.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
