What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employee Health and Safety Manager position at RED DOT BUILDINGS?

Position Vision: This position is responsible for creating, implementing and sustaining manufacturing environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

· Collaborates with management to develop, prepare and implement environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures

· Ensures compliance with federal, state and local environmental, health, and safety laws, regulations, codes and rules

· Ensures timely completion of required OSHA recordkeeping and reporting

· Provides technical and administrative support to the EHS committee

· Create and sustain a manufacturing EHS committee and culture

· Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents and health problems

· Create training programs to assist in the understanding of the needed steps to promote safety and efficiency in the manufacturing process

· Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements and updates

· Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations

· Reviews accident and incident reports

· Performs other related duties as assigned to assist the manufacturing and construction departments

· Develop processes for collection of data on the causes of industrial accidents and develop training to assist in prevention

· Inspect and check equipment and machinery to make sure they are not in unsafe conditions

· Work with maintenance team to create and sustain a preventative maintenance program that helps promote proper and safe equipment operation

· Create and maintain scoreboards for key performance indicators to provide visibility to employees and upper management

· Work closely with Human Resources to document, track and close out any work-related injury cases

Machines and Equipment Used:

· Computer workstation

· Tablets

· Printers, copiers, miscellaneous office equipment

Hours of Work:

· Standard 45-hour work week

· May require frequent overtime

· Short term travel may be required (safety audits/meeting at job sites)

Relationships and Contacts:

· Reports to the Director of Manufacturing.

· Work alongside QC Manager, Production Manager, and Logistics Manager

· Internal contact with every department

· External communication with contractors and vendors

Job Specifications:

Experience and Education

· Bachelor’s degree or five (5) years or more of related professional experience directly related to industrial safety or construction safety management

· Safety certifications in manufacturing or construction (OSHA 30, 510 or 511)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable OSHA standards

· Excellent written and verbal communication

· Ability to conduct individual and group training

· Excellent organization and documentation skills

· Strong supervisory and leadership skills

· Extensive knowledge of manufacturing related safety topics.
