What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Production Assistant position at REMINGTON SEEDS LLC?
Job Summary
This is a versatile role that supports multiple aspects of seed corn production at our facility. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong mechanical aptitude and basic computer knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in seed packaging, conditioning, treating, and warehousing
- Perform maintenance work in the facility
- Conduct outside work from spring through fall to assist in planting, inspecting, detasseling, male row destruction, and harvesting of the seed crop
- Gain an understanding of our Company culture and customer relationships
- Learn and understand quality processes and functions in both Field and Plant operations
Requirements
- Reliable and dependable with a good attitude
- Ability to perform tasks safely
- Compliance with location policies and procedures
- Ability to perform physical labor, lift greater than 50lbs
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- Basic computer knowledge preferred
- Effective communication skills
- Flexibility to work in both plant and field
