Retail Clerk/Cashier

Position Summary: Under the supervision of on-site management, Retail Clerks will perform the following duties normally associated with the operation of retail Smoke Shop.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Operates cash register to itemize and total customer purchases in Smoke Shop: Reviews price sheets to note price changes and sale items. Collects cash, check, charges and vendor coupons from customer and makes change for cash transactions. Bags merchandise and perform related duties of cashier.

· Performs any combination of following duties to provide customer service in self-service Smoke Shop: Greet, assist and thank customers. Aids customers in locating merchandise. Answers question from and provide information to customer about merchandise for sale. Obtain merchandise from stockroom when merchandise is not on floor.

· Inventories, stores, prices, and restocks merchandise displays in store: Takes inventory when directed by management. Receives, opens, and unpacks cartons of merchandise. Changes prices on inventory when directed by management. Sets up advertising signs and displays merchandise on shelves.

· Maintains cleanliness and safety of store: Cleans display cases, shelves and aisles, work areas, driveways, parking areas, windows, bathrooms, and offices. Performs related duties as assigned, such as snow shoveling or weeding.

· Counts money in cash drawers at beginning and end of shift. Records daily transaction amounts from cash register to balance cash drawer.

· Monitor customers for theft control and notify management of any occurrences during assigned shifts.

· Work flexible hours, possibly at various Smoke Shop locations, as assigned.

· Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

· High school graduate or equivalent.

· Must be bondable and be able to pass a security background check.

· Must be able to demonstrate ability to provide courteous customer service to Smoke shop patrons and demonstrate sufficient mathematical skills to accurately transact cashier and inventory responsibilities.

· Must pass a pre-employment mathematical test and background check.

Please note: hiring preference is provided to members of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony followed by members of other federally recognized tribes.

Reno-Sparks Indian Colony requires any designated candidate to complete a pre employment drug screen, criminal background check, and confirmation of professional references.

Pay: Up to $20.65 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
