Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
Position Overview
The Rescue Mission of Trenton is seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist for our Mobile Unit
The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist aids in the provision of engaging individuals with substance use disorders (SUD) and providing state and county resources to recovery support services through a community mobile unit initiative.

Qualifications For Position
Certification: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Certification (CPRS) Strongly Preferred or must obtained CPRS Certification within 1 year of employment.
Skills and Abilities: Active listening, critical thinking, and persuasion
Ability to navigate computer systems
Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support to SUD clients based on personal lived experience with access to an on-call Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor
- Engages clients in various areas in Mercer County using a Mobile Unit that may require street recruitment
- Provide clients with a Wellness Welcome Package
- Provide clients with other products as available
- Provide Naloxone education and distribution kits
- Provide brochures and literature on available community resources
- Screen and assess for SUD treatment services, treatment facilities, and harm reduction efforts
- Assist coordinating with harm reduction efforts in Trenton and Mercer County
- Provide community linkages to medical, primary care, or federally qualified health centers (FQHC)
- Provide community linkages to housing resources and other social service needs
- Initiate timely documentation of services delivered via questionnaire or survey
- Provide access to On-Call clinical intervention
- Attend trainings provided by Rescue Mission of Trenton and other community-based organization
Pay Rate: $17:51 without Certification, plus $1.00 per hour paid out quarterly
$22.25 with Certification
Hours: Monday - Friday, 5:30am 1:30pm
