We are looking for a Shipping Team Lead to join our team and oversee the shipping operations at the ground level. This person will coordinate logistics to lead the shipping department in meeting customer demands by efficiently fulfilling orders and providing outstanding service on shipping options for the customer. The Shipping Lead will report directly to the Logistics Manager.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
· Receive, inspect, inventory, document and store shipments.
- Oversee data system for storage and tracking of goods and shipments.
- Communicate with suppliers, receivers, drivers and staff for smooth shipment.
- Stage loading and unloading areas with appropriate equipment, materials and space.
- Prepare, document and deliver outgoing materials.
· Perform all shipping tasks required to create satisfied customers, both internal and external.
· Delegate and monitor work orders to ensure on-time shipments
· Acts as a liaison between staff and management including, but not limited to, relaying information to staff and reporting processes/incidents to management
· Emphasizes quality over quantity when processing any inbound and outbound inventory by utilizing quality control checks
· Receives inventory into the Company systems in a timely manner to expedite shipment of new materials received
· Ensures guidelines are followed when processing shipments
· Ensures all safety guidelines are followed within the work center to prevent incidents
Qualifications
· Shipping experience (2 yrs preferred)
· Experience in leading and coaching small teams
· Desire for continuous improvement and growth
· Invoicing experience
· Experience using a forklift
· Experience with computers (MS Office Suite) (2 yrs preferred)
· Writing, math and communication skills
· Ability to work effectively with other individuals and teams
· Ability to manage small projects personally and work independently
· Organizational skills and detailed-oriented with a quality mindset
· Ability to work within a deadline under pressure and handle interruptions
· High school diploma or GED
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
· Shipping experience with UPS, USPS, Fedex, DHL, LTL
Essential skills:
· Must possess strength and dexterity to manipulate, move, handle, and coordinate materials weighing 50-100 pounds consistently over a 2-hour period
· Possess the problem-solving skillset when coordinating the load of a truck, assuring all items are secure and organized to ease the end user upon receipt
· Must maintain safety protocol while operating in an area with Forklift traffic
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
