What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic position at Revak Keene Turbomachinery?
Reports To: Foreman
I. Broad Function
To analyze and execute in-house and field repairs and upgrades to customer rotating machinery.
II. Qualification Requirements
- Minimum of eight (8) years of repair experience with rotating machinery.
- A strong hands-on and working knowledge of the manufacture and assembly of close tolerance rotating machinery.
- A strong hands-on and working knowledge of machine shop and repair shop practices.
- The ability to work with close tolerance equipment while coordinating with all departments to keep the flow of work moving in the proper direction. Must have the ability to achieve and meet timely and cost-effective methods of repair and assembly.
- Strong problem solving skills that help define and document root cause of failures and the repair process necessary to bring the equipment back to OEM requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English), and the ability to complete documentation and reports.
- Strong organized work ethic required as well as the ability to work with all involved in the repair process from start to completion.
- Machinist experience required for resolution of equipment problems and recommended repairs.
- Have experience and be willing to operate standard factory equipment.
- Very organized, good interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, “can do” attitude.
- Ability to understand and comply with regulations and processes set forth in the repair procedures.
- Ability to work equipment repairs from start to finish with minimal direction.
- Must have a very strong safety work ethic and be able to maintain a clean and efficient work area.
III. Principal Responsibilities
- Perform in shop mechanical repairs, upgrades, and packaging of turbomachinery. Scope will include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, damage analysis, modification, and assembly.
- Coordinate with Manager, Planner and QA/QC to ensure special repair requirements are met.
- Preparation and packaging of repaired equipment for safe shipment.
- Organize and maintain an efficient repair shop area.
- Document, inspect, analyze, and complete reports on equipment inspections and repairs.
- Work overtime, as required, to meet customer emergency demands.
- Travel and perform Field repairs of turbomachinery with direction from supervisor when required.
- Willingness to learn and test for advancement based on abilities and ambitions.
- Maintain reports and records in accordance with company standards.
- Perform and promote company safety standards within shop and field environments.
