Our client is looking to onboard a part time contractor to work in our Data Center in New Albany, Ohio as an IT Computer Operator. Job objective, experience and functions are defined below. This position does need to be in the Data Center in New Albany, this is not a role that qualifies for remote work. This position is every Saturday and Sunday only, 5:30 pm to 5:30 am (EST).
JOB OBJECTIVE:
Operate, monitor and support Encova’s IT infrastructure and Data Center environments. Ensure the timely completion of all scheduled batch cycles and processes workload during the shift and support the workflow of computer operations. Contribute to a positive customer support experience and build rapport and trust with business partners and application teams.
EXPERIENCE:
The experience noted below is required. App/Dev, Customer Support, Data Center, Service Desk, Server or Storage Engineer experience may not be substituted for required Operations experience.
5 years’ experience as an operator in a data center environment.
Knowledge of service management software. ServiceNow experience is a plus.
Knowledge of workflow automation software. Control-M experience is a plus.
Knowledge of monitoring software. SolarWinds experience is a plus.
Experience with both mainframe and distributed systems operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Identify and resolve, in a timely fashion, issues that interrupt or adversely affect the normal workflow of system processing. Engage the appropriate support teams and/or coordinate resolution of issues and incidents according to established procedures.
- Work to ensure daily or nightly batch processing is completed on time and computer systems are available as scheduled.
- Work with senior and lead operations staff to perform daily approved changes according to defined technical standards as instructed.
- Control physical access to the facility and monitor the physical state of all aspects of the Data Center.
- Monitor application processing, networking, and all Data Center hardware and software, taking appropriate actions according to defined procedures as issues arise.
- Document shift activities and incidents according to defined procedures.
- Conduct walkthroughs of the Data Center to verify there are no physical issues.
- Respond to calls and inquiries to facilitate the timely resolution of incidents and completion of requests for service.
- Work with vendors and third parties to troubleshoot and resolve issues as needed.
WORK DETAILS:
Start Date - As soon as possible. March 17th, 2025 would be ideal if we could onboard a candidate that quickly. Since this is a weekend shift, we would like to do initial training during the week.
End Date - Approximately September 29th, 2025. Will be determined at a later date.
Expected hours to work per week – Two / twelve-hour workdays per week for a total of 24 hours. May be opportunity for some OT.
Core hours to Work - Every Saturday and Sunday, 5:30 pm to 5:30 am (EST).
Work location - New Albany Ohio – on site only, no hybrid

Pay Rate - $33, with some flexibility. We can review on a case-by-case basis.
Experience Minimum - 5 years’ experience as a computer operator in a data center environment.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Interview process via Teams Meeting. One meeting unless additional questions come up.
Background and drug screening will be required and must have successfully passed prior to onboarding.
No heavy lifting is required.
