Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Interfaces with external/internal customers and establishes documented systems to assure process/products in order to meet or exceed company/customer requirements through quality-oriented planning, employee training, and continuous improvement. Drives quality culture throughout the organization in accordance with the Quality Operating System. We will

Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform engineering studies, including product and process qualification.
  • Reduce variation through the implementation of effective quality techniques.
  • Analyze data from studies and daily activities in order to create action plans for improvement and permanent corrective action.
  • Review and analyze data both internal and external for trends and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in the improvement of systems to increase efficiency, reduce loss, and achieve department and company goals.
  • Guide all departments in the creation and implementation of corrective/preventive actions addressing internal and external issues.
  • Coordinates with all Quality Auditors to ensure prescribed quality procedures are followed.
  • Assist the Quality Manager in any requests for investigation into product quality or function.
  • Provide technical quality expertise and support to Engineering, Production, and Quality in the launch and maintenance of any new or revised set of processes and products.
  • Assist in developing plant quality acceptance standards to improve shift communication and consistency.
  • Responsible for maintaining calibration and repair of plant measuring equipment.
  • Understand the eight (8) Quality Principles within the Total Quality Management system
  • Submit Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) per requirements including preparing submissions per AIAG or customer specified methods.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Quality, with CQE Certification is preferred; and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong Knowledge of Quality Standards.
  • Problem solving skills that include 8D and/or 5 phase processes.
  • Above average math skills with a strong emphasis on statistics.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Fundamental computer skills including MS Office Products, Solid Works and CMM programs/operations
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SPC and GD&T
  • Ability to perform dimensional verifications
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting required completion dates.
  • ISO9001-2008 Lead Auditor Certification and IATF 16949-2016
