Role and Responsibilities
High volume ophthalmology practice offering a rewarding, enjoyable, and stimulating work environment. Willing to train and invest in individuals with integrity, accountability, and the ability to collaborate with others. This position’s primary location is in our Sherman, Texas office.
· Accept incoming calls on a multi-line phone system; handling patient calls as appropriate, including scheduling appointments.
· Complete the new patient registration process, including sending registration forms to patients via mail or email.
· Create and update patient accounts in our practice management system, including demographic and insurance information.
· Conduct follow up calls and appointment rescheduling.
· Greet patients at the front desk, as well as departing patients.
· Verify insurance eligibility and benefits with health plans before the patient arrives and when provided as new information at check-in.
· Obtain referrals, pre-certifications/pre-authorizations as required.
· Collect copayments, co insurances, deductibles, and balances prior to services.
· Scan and sort medical records to the EMR.
· Manage incoming faxes.
· Communicate and collaborate with all team members.
· Complete and submit accurate end of day reports.
· All other duties as assigned.
· Opportunity to travel to satellite clinics. Office locations in Sherman, Durant, Ardmore, Gainesville, Paris, Whitesboro, Celina, and Talihina.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· 1 years of experience in customer service required
· Previous call center experience (Preferred)
· Previous insurance knowledge (Preferred)
· Knowledge of medical terminology, especially eye
· High school or equivalent education required
