RHB Management Company is Hiring a Property Accountant Near Santa Monica, CA

DAILY JOB DUTIES

As a Property Accountant for The Roberts Companies/RHB Property Management Co., you will be responsible for oversight of property accounting including, but not limited to, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and analysis and annual budget preparation. Strong understanding and application of Yardi software will be required. You will report directly to the Controller/CFO.

JOB DESCRIPTION

· Provide financial reporting support to Controller/CFO

· Responsible in setting up new property and tenants in Yardi

· Assist and/or prepare bank reconciliations each month for all bank accounts.

· Review and post tenant billings, additional billings/adjustments according to information received from the property managers.

· Ensure accuracy of leasing information entered into the accounting system.

· Prepare year-end financials for submission to the company’s CPA.

· Ensure that business tax and licenses, Form 1099, Unit Registration and Fees, real estate property tax, and all other regulatory filings or industry surveys are completed accurately and filed timely with the appropriate jurisdiction or entity.

· Prepare and review annual budgets and cashflow preparations

· Complete various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.

· Analyze trends with focus on income and expenses, in comparison to historical data and budget, and prepare variance explanations

  • Review and analyze monthly operating statements
  • Monitor real estate loans for compliance and analyze potential modifications / borrower requests
  • Participate in property due diligence for acquisitions
  • Provide financial reporting to properties’ lenders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must demonstrate financial acumen, research and analytical skills, strong problem-solving skills and quantitative abilities
  • Must be resourceful, possess excellent organizational skills and strong written/oral communication skills
  • Work with individuals/teams from multiple disciplines and motivate others to achieve desired results
  • Capability of simultaneously handling multiple assignments and to direct and monitor the activities of others on a systematic basis
  • Must be proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Solid working knowledge with Yardi is necessary.
  • Must possess solid financial reporting and analytical skills
  • Must be highly proficient in database modeling (SQL and Excel)
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work effectively both independently and within a team

Education and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in finance and/or accounting
  • At least five years of experience and progressive responsibility in financial analysis
  • 5 year multifamily real estate accounting experience required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $75,000.00 per year
