Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Under direction of the Branch Manager, the Head Teller is responsible for providing accurate and efficient service to members at the teller window. This entails accepting and verifying deposits, cashing and issuing checks and performing all the related reconciling functions for the individually assigned drawer. The Head Teller is additionally responsible for determining the cash requirements of the branch, ordering the necessary amount of cash, counting for accuracy, and buying and selling cash to the individual tellers. Must provide detailed information to maintain proper logs of monetary and non-monetary items. Serve as a back up to Member Relations and keeping the Manager informed of the conditions and operations of the tellers.
Job Requirements:
- Maintains accurate levels of cash in the branch and physically counts incoming and outgoing branch cash to ensure that the branch cash is reconciled to the general books. Accurately buys and sells cash to the individual tellers and maintains accurate records.
- This position requires that the candidate register or become registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator with the NMLS Registry, obtain a unique identifier and maintain a status in good standing (as defined by the SAFE Act). In addition, the candidate must satisfy the Rhode Island licensing requirements to sell credit insurance products.
Education, Experience, Competencies and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand or sit regularly.
- Frequently use hand to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk, see or hear.
- Ability to regularly stoop, walk, kneel or crouch.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds in locations with a lobby coin machine.
