Position Summary :

The Center Administrator oversees the daily operations of the Center for Women, Gender, and Sexuality. Their functional responsibilities typically include program administration, research administration, financial management, human resources, compliance, communications / outreach and research administration. The Center Administrator provides guidance to faculty and staff on administrative operations and university policies.

Hiring Range :

This position is benefits-eligible, exempt, and work is completed on-site. It has an expected minimum salary of $61,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications).

  • Exempt (salaried) positions under are not eligible for overtime.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2 years of related experience In lieu of the education / experience requirement, additional related education and / or experience, above and beyond what is required, may be substituted on an equivalent year-for-year basis.

  • Experience in a higher education environment.
  • Expert knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and database software programs to either complete work assignments or direct the completion of work assignments

  • Essential Functions :

  • Responsible for the management of administrative operations and support to center director, associate director, affiliated faculty, students, and programs
  • Manages the development, implementation, administration and evaluation of operations, including, but not limited to : research administration, budget / finance, program administration, human resources, communications / outreach, and compliance
  • Proactively plans and coordinates logistical aspects of center events, conferences, workshops, and guest speakers
  • Provides guidance on the interpretation, implementation, and compliance with policies and regulations
  • Serves a primary role in the development and implementation of the annual budget
  • Participates in short term budget planning and supports long term budget planning
  • Oversees the maintenance of financial records.
  • Manages the human resource function for the center for staff and faculty, coordinates faculty searches, appointments, and reappointments
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
  • Additional Functions

  • Processes faculty reimbursements
  • Processes travel reimbursements and honoraria for guest speakers
  • Supervises student assistants
