What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mid to Senior System Administrator position at Rite-Solutions, Inc.?
Rite-Solutions, Inc., is seeking a skilled Mid to Senior System Administer LINUX candidate to support in a hybrid capacity between your home office and in Middletown, RI 3 days a week.
Position Responsbilities:
You will perform various system administration duties in a Linux environment. Assist in implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting Linux issues relating to performance, compliance and security hardening.
- Extensive knowledge (5 years' experience) of implementing and supporting Red Hat or similar distributions of Linux.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure on-time software deliveries.
- Experience with version control systems: Git/BitBucket.
- Knowledge of branching and merging strategies to enforce within the software team
- Review vendor-issued security releases, identify remedial steps and implement approved changes.
- Detailed knowledge of Linux security hardening principles and practices
- Provide contact and problem resolution for users with hardware, software and applications problems.
- Provide computer compliance and technical support for Linux, software and peripherals and support maintenance of internal custom applications.
- Routine research and implementation of compliance solutions in strict accordance with established guidelines.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems and software applications.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity.
- Implement security measures and monitor for potential vulnerabilities.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and user guides.
- Collaborate with IT team members to develop and implement IT policies and procedures.
Preferred Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Active SECRET security clearance.
- Military or government experience preferred, but not necessary.
- Experience with scripting languages and automation techniques.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator with experience in Linux server environments.
- Familiarity with network protocols, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Additional Qualifications & Certifications:
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- CompTIA A /Network /Security /Linux
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
