What are the responsibilities and job description for the Orthodontic Assistant position at River Valley Orthodontics?
Orthodontic Assistants play a pivotal role in our busy, fast-paced orthodontic office. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- greeting patients and helping them to feel comfortable
- removing wires, brackets, orthodontic appliances
- presenting case information to the doctor
- prepping teeth and placing brackets for the doctor
- sterilization of equipment
- education of patients on the care of teeth and braces
- scanning teeth for appliances and retainers
- charting the appointment information and informing the patient of next appointment
- taking clinical photos
- being involved and helping with community events
- representing the practice in a positive way in the community
- being willing to be seen on social media in a positive way for practice advertising
Previous dental or orthodontic experience is a plus, medical experience is a plus. We are willing to train the right candidates. Positive attitude and a desire to create great patient experience is essential. This position is part-time, which consists of 12 patient days per month, which averages 3 days per week. The schedule is set several months in advance so appointments can be scheduled. Attendance is essential for our office to operate well.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
