The Team:
This role is a part of the production assembly team. The team works with the scheduling, materials, and operations teams to accomplish work and provides necessary components to further processing.
The Role:
This position brazes and bonds together components to assemble metal parts as specified by layout, work order, or blueprints, using hand torch. This position also spends time assembling together components, wire harnesses and metal parts to build thermal chambers as specified by schematics, diagrams, and manufacturing instructions using hand tools.
You will spend your time:
Maintaining clean and orderly workstations and equipment following 5s guidelines
Completing tasks as designated by production schedules with minimum supervision
Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Report defects and safety concerns to Cell Coordinators.
Brazer Assembler duties include but not limited to:
Cutting, deburring, and swaging copper
Cleaning joints of work pieces, using wire brush or by dipping them into cleaning solution
Pressurizing chambers systems using nitrogen
Selecting torch tip, flux, and brazing alloy from data charts or work order
Connecting hoses from torch to regulator valves and cylinders of oxygen specified fuel gas, acetylene or natural
Turning valves to start flow of gases, lights flame, and adjusts pressure and mixture of gases to obtain desired color size of flame
Brushing flux onto joint of work piece or dips braze rod into flux to prevent oxidation of metal
Guiding torch and rod along joint or seam of work piece to heat to brazing temperature melt braze alloy to bond work pieces together
Examining seam re-brazes defective joints
May braze together broken parts cover holes to repair leaks
May melt and separate brazed joints, using hand torch or furnace, remove and straighten components, and re-braze joints to repair misaligned or damaged assemblies be designated Brazer, Repair and Salvage
Chamber Assembler duties include but not limited to:
Aligning and clamping work pieces together, using rule, square, template or set up, placing them in fixtures, jigs, or vise
Performing electrical and sub-assembly processes using power tools such as drills, grinders, pneumatic rivet guns, and Dremel tools on a daily basis
Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating work pieces
Performing other duties assigned as needed

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Ability to rotate to various workstations while working collaboratively with others as required
Strong eye/hand coordination with the ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
Basic computer skills
Ability to read and speak English
Additional skills and abilities related to this position:
Soldering or brazing experience preferred
Ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specifications, blueprints, etc.
Ability to quickly move your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects
Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production copper, brazing, etc.
The ability to read a tape measure and cut materials to precise dimensions using equipment such as panel saws and band saws
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting and moving of lightweight materials up to 10 pounds
Must be able to lift up to 10-50 pounds
Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance
Frequent standing, up to 10-hour days
Frequent sitting, standing, bending, reaching and walking
Work Environment:
Manufacturing setting
Travel:
This position may travel between all RIS facilities.
Infrequent travel for trainings and/or business needs may be required.
