Qualifications: This position is well suited for and high-energy person who enjoys working with people. The ideal candidate will have a positive, “can do” attitude and possess the following qualifications:
- First Aid/CPR and USOPC SafeSport certification. RIVERSPORT will provide upon hiring.
- Bilingual applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Experience facilitating or teaching in a group setting.
- Desire and ability to work with children outdoors.
- Self-starter able to work with little supervision.
- Knowledge of on the water safety and RIVERSPORT procedures.
- Able to communicate effectively in a professional manner with co-workers, supervisors, subordinates, and most importantly the campers.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Interest in the expansion of Oklahoma City through the Oklahoma River and the RIVERSPORT mission.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Ability to be outdoors for long periods of time, in a summer setting.
- Able to stand, walk, crouch, crawl, kneel, or stoop.
- Able to walk quickly to/from job locations up to 1 (one) kilometer distance.
- Able to walk at a specified pace for up to (8) hours. Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds Must have the ability to restrain and physically support children when needed for safety in general camp activities (child weighing 50 - 200 pounds).
- Must have good hearing and visual acuity to observe equipment, RIVERSPORT Foundation guests, etc.
- Able to speak to give campers verbal instructions.
