Vocational Instructor
Main Function: Provide vocational training and instruction to young adults with complex language, learning, and cognitive disabilities.
Essential Job Functions:
●Provide instruction of vocational skills
●Engage in on-the-job training in a variety of industries and occupations
●Adapt job skill training to meet the individual needs of students
●Collaborate and communicate with community partners to facilitate a mutually beneficial partnership
●Collect individual student data weekly
●Report on student progress quarterly
●Other duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
●Experience working with students with learning and intellectual disabilities
●Willingness to engage in professional development to gain the knowledge necessary to effectively work with the Riverview student profile
●Demonstrate an understanding of the School mission and adhere to all policies and procedures.
●Related experience (experience in an independent school environment preferred)
●Strong ability to incorporate technology into instruction
●Exceptional written, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
●Ability to handle a fast-paced environment
●Passion for Riverview’s mission and the field of special education
●Current/valid driver’s license and ability to drive students
●Suitable background check results (CORI, SORI, DCF) and fingerprinting required
●Legal authorization to work in the US
