We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Underwriter with a strong background in luxury automotive lending to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of underwriting high-value auto loans, reviewing complex financial documents (including tax returns), detecting and preventing fraud, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Experience with loan funding, vehicle titling, and lending regulations is essential.
Job Summary
The Senior Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting high-value automotive loans with a strong emphasis on luxury and exotic vehicles. This individual will analyze credit applications, review financial documents, detect fraud risks, and ensure funding compliance. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proven ability to work efficiently in a hybrid environment.
Key Responsibilities
Underwriting & Credit Analysis
• Review and analyze credit reports, tax returns, bank statements, and other financial documents.
• Evaluate high-net-worth individuals and business owners seeking financing for exotic vehicles.
• Assess loan-to-value ratios, payment structures, and risk factors to ensure sound lending decisions.
• Identify potential fraud risks and implement necessary due diligence measures.
Loan Funding & Compliance
• Ensure all loan conditions are met before funding, including verification of financials and documentation.
• Collaborate with the loan servicing and funding team to ensure a smooth transition from approval to funding.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state lending regulations, ensuring adherence to policies.
• Stay informed on automotive lending laws, consumer finance regulations, and fraud prevention.
Vehicle Title & Documentation Review
• Oversee the review and verification of vehicle titles, ensuring proper lien perfection.
• Work with dealerships and customers to ensure accurate title processing and avoid title-related issues.
• Collaborate with third-party partners to validate vehicle valuations, ownership history, and condition reports.
Fraud Prevention & Risk Mitigation
• Implement advanced fraud detection techniques to identify and prevent fraudulent loan applications.
• Work closely with internal teams and external fraud prevention agencies to stay ahead of fraud trends.
• Conduct audits and report findings to enhance underwriting accuracy and fraud prevention efforts.
Collaboration & Process Improvement
• Work closely with loan originators, funding specialists, and compliance teams to improve underwriting efficiency.
• Provide insights and recommendations to enhance underwriting policies and risk assessment models.
• Leverage technology and data analytics to improve decision-making and streamline operations.
Qualifications
Experience & Industry Knowledge
• Minimum 7 years of underwriting experience in luxury automotive lending or high-net-worth financing.
• Expertise in reviewing complex tax returns (personal & business), bank statements, and financial documents.
• Strong background in loan funding, compliance, and vehicle title processing.
• Experience working with exotic and collector vehicles is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of auto lending regulations, title laws, and loan funding best practices.

• Proficiency in loan origination and underwriting systems, such as Dealertrack, CreditSmarts, or similar platforms.
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred but not required with relevant experience.
